Are you on the Twitter? Then let's be brief together!

Howdy all!  Hope you had a restful weekend or at least did something your mother might not approve of.  This is a short/sweet post.

I created a Twitter account, and have no idea what I'm doing!   You can click my shiny new badge in the upper right corner of Ye Old Blog for my details.   Fortunately, my Twignorance (see what I did there?) isn't going to stop me from following you.  :)

I'm in the voyeuristic stages right now, but would love to connect with my blog friends.  I know many of you have accounts already, so if you'll simply let me know in the comments, I'll look you up and follow you.  Sound good?

Also, feel free to share any useful resources for the Twitter n00b ... many of you have been posting about such things on your blogs, so feel free to plug away in the comments.

Hope you all have someone or something sweet to enjoy today!

~EJW~

  1. Hi, E.J.

Nice to meet a fellow crusader. I hopped over from Rach's.

As for Twitter it is an enigma... I tweet mostly about other bloggers' contest and such. I'm DAK86.

    Well, have a great day...

  2. No Twitting here yet. But when I set up an account, I'll be sure to let you know. Why do I feel left behind?

I find the whole twitter thing a little strange, but interesting. I like watching the random, stream of consciousness collection of tweets in my feed. Kinda fun.

  7. I just joined Twitter a few months ago. I'm struggling through figuring out hash tags and how to write in twitter hand.
I stopped by because I saw you on the Crusade list. Good luck. I'm a follower now on blog and Twitter. :)

  9. Ya know, of all the social media 'things' I've probably been most resistant to Twitter. I kind of have a love/hate relationship with my personal Facebook page, and it just seemed that Twitter was that x 10.

Unfortunately, there's just too much information passed around via Twitter for me to continue to ignore it. At this point, I'm definitely doing it for the networking and learning. I get so much out of blogging, and I'm hoping Twitter will take it a step further.

Thanks for all of your thoughts Crusaders! :)

  14. Hi! You can find me at: http://twitter.com/#!/AimeeLSalter and thanks for linking my blog on yours.

Twitter tip: Check out #amwriting #amediting #askagent #askeditor (you can just search those - with the hashtag or click on the hashtag someone else has tweeted and all other tweets with that tag will come up - writers hang out that way together. Also, don't tweet about what you're eating or if / when you're going to bed. That gets old. Really old. Really fast.

  18. After several attempts, I'm now a pretty committed Twit, except when I run away for a day or two of breathing space. There is an enormous amount of information and once you get the knack of filtering it (and of not minding all the stuff you miss by having a life in meatspace) it's useful. And groovesome. And Twitterific! (See what I did there?)

I'm @f_rancesca and promise to say hey if I see you out there.

Have you read Douglas Adams? Remember the unending party in the flying building? That's Twitter.

If you haven't read Douglas Adams, why?

  21. I suck at tweeting, I still haven't figured out how to use Twitter...and I'm a librarian, we're meant to be all with the times when it comes to web 2.0 :D

  22. So far I am a Twitterresister. See what I did there? I have such a hard time keeping up with Blogging and FB that I'm afraid one more thing will drown me. The time will come, I know. In the meantime, I'll live vicariously through others. Good luck!

  23. Hi, E.J., I don't tweet, so I'll have to let you folks be brief together. ; ) I am a fellow crusader. See you around.

  24. hey, EJ! a great place to connect with other writers on twitter is #YAlitchat
i just started doing it, and it's been my favorite thing about twitter so far.
i think the next chat is tomorrow at 9pm eastern. it moves really fast, but it's easier to follow if you use TweetDeck (sort of twitter's version of a chat room).

  29. Welcome to Twitter, fellow Crusader. I'd give you some Twitter tips, but I've been on it over a year, and I still have no idea what I'm doing.

If you figure it out, let me know, too.

  30. I feel like I should tweet, but I also feel like it might be the straw that breaks my camel's back! Website, FB, blog - not to mention actual writing which is supposed to be what it's all about :) I don't think I can add one more thing, even if it's all about brevity (which is SO not my strong suit!)

  31. Thanks for stopping by blog. My email is going wonky, but I wanted to say thanks for recommending that book, I have it on my book shelf and keep putting off reading it. I'm moving it to the top. (Well, under the pile by my bed... ) Thanks!

  32. I'm a Twitter newbie, too. Just made my first tweet yesterday. I figured I had to do something. I've had the account for a few weeks and people kept signing up to follow me, even though I wasn't saying anything. :)
